COUNCIL’S TRIBUTE
LATE MR J. E. TIDD WORK FOR HAMILTON A tribute to the services to Hamilton of the late Mr J. E. Tidd was paid by the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro, when speaking at a meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night. “1 wish to have placed on record our appreciation of the work done for Hamilton by Mr Tidd,” said the Mayor. “We know that he always did his best for Hamilton over a long period of years and he gave all his energies and brains for the benefit, of the town. Through his death we have lost a man who will be difficult to replace. “I will move that the council offers to his relatives its sincere sympathy and places on record its appreciation of the work he did for the town.”
The motion was carried, the council standing in silence.
