TROOPS MOVE
TE RAPA CHANGES MORE MEN FROM HOPU HOPU OTHERS LEAVE FOR PAPAKURA Now that the isolation ban on the troops in the Te Rapa camp has been lifted, it has become possible to redraft the men of the Third Echelon units of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force with their units. To accomplish this two troop trains were run today. Troops arrived at Te Rapa from Hopu Hopu and others departed for the Papakura mobilisation camp. The majority of the troops who were placed in isolation at Te Rapa were members of the 29th Battalion. Some sections of this unit who were not required to be isolated, upon their arrival from the south nearly three weeks ago have been under canvas at the Hopu Hopu camp. Travelling from Hopu Hopu by train this morning, these troops rejoined their unit at the Te Rapa camp, which will now be the training ground for the 29th Battalion.
Among the troops isolated at Te Rapa were a number of engineers, some members of the New Zealand Army Service Corps, and the Survey Battery, New Zealand Artillery. These troops left Te Rapa camp this morning for Papakura, where they will complete their training.
As a result of the troop movements today the number of men in training at the Te Rapa camp will be increased slightly. To accommodate the extra personnel further tents were erected today. In the meantime Captain J. C. Holmes will remain at Te Rapa as camp commandant.
