INJURY TO EYE

EXPLOSION AT SCHOOL PUPIL STRUCK BY GLASS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) TAURANGA, Wednesday When a class of High School pupils was conducting an experiment for the collection of hydrogen, an explosion occurred and one of the pupils, Russell Stevens, received severe injuries to an eye. He was struck by glass and was sent to Hamilton to a specialist.

An operation has been and the chance of saving the eye is considered to be only fair. Several other pupils received scratches from flying glass.
