PARCELS FOR SOLDIERS

740 PACKED IN FOUR HOURS The members of the Hamilton Ladies’ Patriotic Committee and their helpers have every reason for self-congratulation on their achievement of packing 740 Christmas parcels for soldiers overseas in approximately four hours. This was the result of thorough organisation beforehand, when the large room in the patriotic house was arranged in the same manner as a shop, with each type of article stacked together. It was then a simple matter for one group of women to collect, another to carry the contents of each parcel to the packers, and the third group to proceed with the packing. Thanks to the generous response to an appeal for shortbread, there is sufficient of this commodity to fill another case.
