THREE SUCCEED
APPEALS BY JOCKEYS TWO OTHERS UNSUCCESSFUL CONDITIONAL LICENSES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The result of the appeals by five jockeys against the decision of the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference in granting them for the 1940-41 racing season three months’ conditional jockeys’ licenses, to expire on October 31, 1940, was announced tonight. The appeals of Percy Burgess, Arthur Ernest Didham and George Ronald Tattersall were upheld and the executive committee is to be directed to issue them jockeys’ licenses to expire on July 31, 1941. The appeals of William James Broughton and Harold Norman Wiggins were dismissed, and the judges have ordered that in each case £lO, the amount lodged in the appeal, be retained by the conference.
