DINNER AND DANCE
PRINCESS TE PUEA ENTERTAINS At the conclusion of a dinner on 1 Saturday, which Princess Te Puea gave in honour of the officers and men of the Maori Reinforcement in camp at Hopu Hopu, a very enjoyable dance was held in the Kimi Kimi Hall. The hall presented an extremely attractive scene, being entirely arranged with nikau fronds, interspersed with bowls of Iceland poppies. The entire stage was banked with Iceland poppies, making the scene a colourful one. Music was supplied by the Kimi Kimi orchestra, and Mr A. Paterson was master of ceremonies. Items were presented by Maori dancers and singers from Waiuku, and members of the Maori Reinforcement. Among those present were:—Mesdames A. Paterson, H. Pickering, P. Haggart (Taupiri), W. Stubbing, J. Cotter, H. Snowden, V. Banks (Auckland), Y. Silvester (Auckland), C. Kerrin (Hamilton), S. White (Te Awamutu). Misses A. Paterson, D. Tuck, Bryant (Hamilton), Jones (Taupiri), G. Wallbank, M. Starnes, Buckeridge (Tauranga), T. Bailes (Wellington), A. Smith, J. Crawford (Wanganui), T. Havock, S. Jackson, B. Bennett, N. Peters (Waiuku), T. Satherwaite (Auckland).
