CHRISTMAS PARCELS
PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE MEETS A meeting of the Ngaruawahia Patriotic Committee was held recently to discuss the question of providing the 100 Christmas parcels for soldiers, allotted to the area. The chairman, Mr W. M. Paterson, presided. The necessary finance is to be raised by voluntary subscription, and evidently no trouble will be found in raising the £SO necessary, as £ls was raised on Saturday by a garden party held by the ladies of River Road, and the collectors report generous response. The Ngaruawahia area includes Ngaruawahia and the Taupiri, Komakarau and Orini districts.
