OBITUARY

MR ARTHUR CAMPBELL RAE (By Telegraph—special to ’rimes) THAMES, Monday An old resident of Thames, Mr Arthur Campbell Rae, died on Saturday, aged 75. Born at Tauranga, Mr Rae came to Thames with his parents soon after the Thames district was declared a goldfield. He carried on the business of painter and paperhanger until a few years ago. In his young days he took an active interest in all branches of sport and was secretary of the Thames Jockey Club for many years. At the time of his death he was a member of the committee of the club.
