ENJOYABLE DANCE A successful and enjoyable dance was held by the Lower Waikato Basketball Association in the parish hall, Huntly, there being a large attendance including many visitors from the surrounding districts. Popular music was provided by Mr J. Bogie’s orchestra, and an enjoyable extra was played by Mr Max Northmore. Messrs T. Thomas, D. Parsons and P. Quealey acted as masters of ceremonies. Novelty waltzes were won by Mr A. Hanley and partner, and Miss Irene Lid.dle and partner. During the evening the buttons won during the season were presented by the president of the association, Mrs J. Roberts, as follows: A grade Cup: Huntly High School Old Girls. B grade Cup: Horsham Downs. A grade buttons: Rakaumanga. B grade buttons: Huntly High School Old Girls B. SOCIAL AFTERNOON ■A successful social afternoon was held at the residence of Mrs D. Fisher, Huntly South, in aid of the Knox Presbyterian Church funds. The hostesses were Mesdames D. Fisher, G. Allan, G. Mathie and W. P. Rankin. Four competitions were held during the afternoon, the winners being Mrs R. Shand, Mrs N. Naylor, Mrs C. L. Brice and Mrs R. C. Avery. Among those present were:—Mesdames D. Fisher, G. Allan, G. Mathie, W. P. Rankin, F. D. Armour, G. H. Anderson, E. Andrews, R. C. Avery, G. Blair, U. Bryant, E. Burndred (Pukekapia), H. Baber Jnr., C. L. Brice, Bellamy, T. H. Bailey, J. Brook, J. Craig, T. Chisholm, C. Fredrickson, R. Gardner. H. Gavin Snr., H. Gavin Jnr., E. Hitchinson, F. J. Harris, J. Hughes, M. Inglis, B. Mills, Morgan. McEwan, D. H. Mackenzie, N. Naylor, C. Nicholls, J. Stewart, R. Shand, Tait. Tears, A. M. Wilson. Walden, N. Yates. Misses Boyd and Hutchinson.
