CALMNESS IN LONDON
JAPANESE OFFICIAL’S TRIBUTE PEOPLE WELL AND CHEERFUL TRAINS AND BUSES AS USUAL (OlTlclal Wireless) (Received Sept. 23, noon) RUGBY, Sept. 22 The Japanese newspaper Nichi Nichi publishes a despatch from its Berlin correspondent, giving an account of a telephone conversation which he had with Mr Okamoto, who has been counsellor to the Japanese Embassy in London. Mr Okamoto said that Japanese residents in London are well and cheerful. He reported that there are no signs of any intention on the Government’s part to move away from London. The London people are calm and trains and buses are ru*nnjng as usual.
