CARRIERS’ MERGER
LICENSES TO COMPANY GRANTED BY AUTHORITY Carrying licenses of several operators in Hamilton have been transferred to the recently formed merger company, Transport (Waikato), Limited, as a result of a reserved decision made by the No. I Licensing Authority, Mr E. J. Phelan. The applications were heard in Hamilton earlier in the month by the authority and certain transfers were opposed by the Hamilton District Carriers’ Association. The following licenses have been transferred to the company:—Rothwell Brothers, S. T. Marsom, E. G. Bogun, E. R. Davey, W. H. Bates, F. P. Ladd, E. Woodward, A. H. Bums, J. Jebson, P. A. Ciarkin, E. Davison, Hopkinson and Gibson, D. J. Mathieson, C. H. Jonathan, P. A. Minnear, Waikato Cabs, Limited, R. N. Leahy and W. N. Smith, F. J. Rothwell, G. Smith. All applications were granted with the exception of the license applied for by H. D. Desmond. In this case Mr Phelan will take further time for consideration before announcing hi* decision.
