NATIONAL CLUB

WOMEN’S AUXILIARY MEETS There was a large attendance at the monthly gathering of the Women’s Auxiliary of the National Club held recently in the lounge, which had been artistically decorated by Mrs Irvine, the hostess of the club. Mrs K. Duxfield presided. The programme consisted of two travel talks, one by Mrs H. Howden, who recently made an extensive tour abroad. Mrs Howden exhibited a wonderful collection of dolls representing the various countries she visited. Mrs A. A. Holmes, the second speaker, brought home with her from her tour overseas a few years ago, a collection of teaspoons from the English counties and Continental countries, the history of which proved most interesting. Both speakers were warmly thanked for their talks.

Appropriate travel songs were given by Mrs A. H. Garland. Afternoon tea brought the gathering to a close.
