FANCY DRESS DANCE
YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB A most successful fancy dress dance was held on Wednesday night in the St. George’s Hall by the St. George’s Young People’s Club, when there was an excellent attendance of dancers in many original and charming costumes. The judges, Mrs C. H. Holloway and Mrs W. S. Dingle, awarded the prizes as follows:—Best lady, “Chinese,” Miss M. Thomas; best gentleman, “Mexican,” Mr G. Bettley; most original, “Peacock,” Miss J. Bowden; best pair, “Top Hat” and “Powder Patches,” Miss M. Grylls and Miss P. McNicol.
Those present in fancy dress were: Misses M. Sandham, Hawaiian; J. Kiddell, Queen of Hearts; V. Dingle, Pirate; D. Dingle, Top Hat; E. Hopkirk, Powder and Patches; Barbara Pountney, South of the Border; Joan Wooller, South of the Border; A. Campbell, Dutch Girl; Shirley Kiddell, Dutch Girl; Joan Gall, Danish Peasant; N. Hobbs, Bib and Bub; J. Bary, Bib and Bub; Joan Bently, Music: Hazel Agnew, Court Gentleman; Daphne Johnson, Hungarian; Joan Wright.
