COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
FOR MISS E. SNELL A most enjoyable evening was recently spent in the Turanga-o-moana Hall, when Mrs R. N. Paton entertained approximately 100 friends to celebrate the coming-of-age of her daughter, Miss Emily Snell. The hall had been artistically decorated with streamers and Chinese lanterns in shades of rose and green. Mrs Paton received her guests wearing a becoming gown of pine green georgette and lace, and the guest of the evening wore a lovely frock of old rose taffeta. Miss Snell’s grandmother, Mrs C. S. Snell, and Mrs S. A. Foreman, both of Wairarapa, were present to congratulate their granddaughter on attaining her majority. Mrs Foreman wore a frock of black satin beaute, with a gold and green coatee, and Mrs Snell was in black ring velvet with coatee to match.
Music was supplied by Messrs F. Flutey, B. Cole, W. Clague and N. Cole, and Mr R. N. Paton was a capable master of ceremonies. Those present were:—Mesdames J. Pacey, H. Gouk, F. Maisey, S. Wills, A.
