OBITUARY
LORD LAMINGTON EX-GOVERNOR OF QUEENSLAND (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 17 The death has occurred of Lord Lamington, Governor of Queensland from 1895 to 1901, at the age of 80. He was appointed Governor of Bombay upon the termination of his period in Queensland. In 1907 he returned to Britain and settled on his estates of about 12,000 acres in Lanarkshire. His heir is his son, the Hon. Victor Alexander Brisbane Cochrane-Baillie, M.C. MR S. M. WARREN (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Wednesday The death has occurred in Wellington of Mr Skelly Maynard Warren, aged 66, formerly of Pitcairn Island, and a great-grandson on his mother’s side of Fletcher Christian, leader of the mutineers of the Bounty. Mr Warren was one of the first Pitcairn Islanders to be presented to the King, in company with Mr R. E. Christian, now living in Wellington. He took up residence in New Zealand with his family some years ago, but his wife returned to Pitcairn Island three months ago. He is survived by his wife and four daughters.
