AUCTION AT CLAUDELANDS PRICES TO 75 GUINEAS Animated competition was shown throughout the morning sales of Jerseys at the annual bull fair of the Waikato Combined Breeders’ Association, which commenced at the Claudelands Showgrounds to-day. The bench of buyers was a record for the sale and values were the best for some years. Star lots over early auctions made from 40 to 75 guineas, with comparatively few of the other entries selling below 30gns. The top price of 75gns this morning was given by Mr A. M. Gibb, of Taupiri, for a three-year-old bull, Marshlands Blue Day, by Ivondale Blue Blood from Restholm Dainty, h.c. The vendor was Mr W. C. Chynoweth, Walton, and the sale was made privately after the auction. On a two-year-old, Financier of Bulls, by Beechlands Summer Lass from Charry of Bulls, Mr G. P. Goodfellow, of Waihou, was the last bidder at 60gns. Dr. F. J. Watson, of Bulls, was the vendor. Aged, yearling and two-year-old Jerseys were sold to-day. The balance of the Jerseys will be sold tomorrow and the sale will conclude on Friday with the auction of Ayrshires, Shorthorns and Friesians.
