DANCING AND CARDS
PRESENTATION MADE There was a large attendance at a card and dance evening held in the Ngarua Hall recently, the proceeds being in aid of the aeroplane fund. Music for dancing was provided by Abby Conning and his Blue Boys’ Orchestra, extras being played by Messrs E. Holmes and M. Sole. A novelty dance was won by Miss D. Buchanan and Mr A. Sealey. Mrs J. Scott was the winner of a competition and the winners of the card tournament were Mrs E. Dench and Mr T. Hansen. Mr S. C. Carter acted as dance master of ceremonies. During the evening opportunity was taken by Mr F. Hayward, chairman, to present Mr Ray Marks, who is to go into camp with the Fourth Echelon, with a shaving set, on behalf of his many friends in the district, and to wish him the best of good luck.
