VALUES AT FRANKTON . ar FAT SHEEP DEARER Fat sheep over the early sales at i the Frankton stock sale today were | often at least 2s a head dearer than last week, a fuller bench of buyers ! and a shorter entry combining to | stimulate competition. In the beef j section an average entry of cows and 1 heifers sold to a better demand at slightly increased values, prices a head being frequently 10s better. A medium supply of ox was very firm. Price levels in the fat pig section i showed a slight advance, both j porkers and baconers being slightly dearer. The improvement in price | was noticed particularly for porkers, which were generally 2s a head better. i Quotations. —Extra heavy prime , bullocks, £l3 to £l4 ss; heavy, £ll j 15s to £l2 19s; light to medium, £lO j to £11; extra heavy prime cows and j heifers, £lO to £ll 10s; heavy prime, 1 £8 12s to £9 15s; prime, £7 15s to • £8 7s 6d: fat, £6 5s to £7 10s; small and killable, £4 19s to £5 15s. Pigs.—Baconers, 71s to 91s; porkers, 55s to 70s. Sheep.—Extra prime woolly wethers, 35s 6d to 38s; extra prime shorn, 30s to 33s 6d.
