BEAULIVRE AGAIN

CHELMSFORD STAKES WON LEADS HIGH CASTE HOME PROSPECTS AGAINST AJAX 'United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, Sept. 16 Continuing his winning way Beaulivre completed his third successive victory when he won the Chelmsford Stakes at Tattersall’s Meeting at Randwick yesterday. He also established superiority over High Caste, who showed more dash than in recent races. An interesting duel is expected between them in the Epsom Handicap for which they are almost equal favourites. The Lord Quex three-year-old Pinero, who won the Three and Four-Year-Old Handicap, beat the odds-on Favourite Evergreen lor the second time within a fortnight. Beaupartir and Gladyncv held forward positions in the Spring Handicap, but neither threatened danger In the final stages. The stewards held an inquiry Into the running or Gladynev and accepted ihe explanation of his connections, but reprimanded the jockey F. Shean for his indlfferent handling of the horse. Jockey D. Munro expressed the opinion that Ajax would have a hard task to beat Beaullvre Jn the weight-for-age races in Melbourne at the meetings rn October and November. The first clash between them is likely to take place in- the Caulfield Stakes. BeaulLvre’s time, 1.514, for the Chelmsford Stakes was actually as meritorious as Heroic's i .50 i In 1924, as, owing to the false rail In use yesterday, Beaullvre covered 27yds more than the customary distance, nine furlongs. Three colts whose prospects for the Australian Derby were enhanced by their efforts yesterday were tlie Victorians Lucrative, Pandect and Scientist, who won the Randwick Novice in hollow fashion.
