WAIKATO POINT-TO-POINT
FIXTURE AT CAMBRIDGE Spring-green fields with rolling pine-clad slopes in the background, bright sunshine and a light breeze contributed to the success of the al-vvays-popular point-to-point races held by the Waikato Hunt Club on Saturday. The usual large attendance enjoyed the programme of events which were run over the property of Mr A. J. Swayne, of Fencourt. The fixture was this year held as a Red Cross benefit day and members of the Fencourt sub-centre were present with collecting boxes, a large sum being raised. Among the successful lady riders were Miss Kit Ranstead, placed first and Miss Monne McKinnon, second in the Ladies’ Open Steeplechase. Lady owners whose horses ran into places were Miss C. Scott and Miss B. Farrer. Noticed among the large crowd present, were:—Mesdames J. Ranstead, St. John Wells, P. Beer, S. Baker, F. Baker, C. G. Vosper, M. Pierce, S. Haines, M. Halford. A. R.
