ANNUAL MEETING
ST. PAUL’S LADIES’ GUILD The annual meeting of the St. Paul’s Ladies’ Guild was held recently, when the church parlour had oeen beautifully decorated for the occasion with vases of spring flowers. Mrs D. Bradley, the president, opened the meeting with a hymn and a scripture reading before extending a cordial welcome to the large gathering. Five new members were received. The secretary’s and treasurer’s annual reports were presented, both showing encouraging results for the year’s work. Reports were also given by the conveners of the Sick Visiting and Lookout Committees. After the serving of afternoon tea by the executive, the Rev. R. B. Tinsley took the chair for the election of officers, which resulted as follows—President, Mrs D. Bradley; vice-presidents, Mesdames Tinsley, Davey, Tidd, Miller, Williams, Tietjens, Taylor, Jones; secretary, Mrs Foung; treasurer, Mrs S. Treloar; j reporter, Mrs E. Baty; pianists, Mesdames J. Pomeroy, S. Robson and Miss B. Ibbotson; accompaniste, Mrs Wheeler; programme committee, Mesdames Williams and Wheeler; lookjut convener, Mrs J. Clark; afternoon tea convener, Mrs A. Gordon; sick visiting convener, Mrs Pascoe; keep in touch convener, Mrs Fulton; representative to quarterly meeting, Mrs Bradley; auditor, Mr W. B. Pomeroy; jumble sale convener, Mrs Ziesler; visiting committee, Mesdames Bradley, Gordon, Cogue, Burgess, Ziesler, Patterson, Pomeroy, Robson, Nicholls, Baty; representative to Young Women’s Fellowship, desdames Mackley and M. Arthur. At the completion oi x the election f officers, the Rev. Tinsley expressed iis appreciation of the work done by the Guild. The president, on resuming the chair, welcomed Mrs Young to the office of secretary, and spoke in eulogistic terms of the fine work done by the retiring secretary, Mrs Pascoe. A presentation of a sweets’ dish and stand was made in appreciation of her work. Mrs Tinsley, on behalf of the members, presented Mrs Bradley with a bouquet of anemones and stock, and Mrs Fulton presented the treasurer with a bouquet of sweet peas In closing the meeting, Mrs Bradley asked for the prayers and help of all the members during the coming year.
