SICK AND WOUNDED FUND RELIEF OF BRITISH DISTRESS (By Telegraph.—rress Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The question of providing immediate assistance for the relief of distress arising from air raids in the United Kingdom was considered at a special meeting of the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society, presided over by Sir James Elliott this morning. It was unanimously agreed to make immediate provision for £IO,OOO sterling out of the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund to be transmitted to the joint war organisation of the Red Cross and Order of St. John, London, to be so utilised.
