HAURAKI PLAINS VICTORY UNINSPIRING GAME AT TE AROHA (Special to Times.) TE AROHA, Tuesday. In an uninspiring display of Rugby, Hauraki Plains defeated Te Aroha in a lurther contest for the Poland Cup at Herries Park on Saturday. No doubt the sticky state of the ground and the slippery hall had a detrimental effect upon the game, but at no time did it reach re prosentative standard. The score was 9——3. A try for Te Aroha was scored by Greenslade, and Hauraki Plains scorers were Fisher (2) and Sparrow. No tries were converted. Fast and open play among the backs and willing rorward exchanges characterised the junior contest between Te Aroha unu T.-.-hmeal old hoys, played at Herries Park on Saturday. The result was a w r in for Te Aroha, by 13—5. All the point© for Te Aroha w-ere scored by \\. v uy.-ey and those for Technical Old Boys came rrom a try by T. McCune. converted by K. Randrup. ROAD CYCLING EVENT The Aroha Cycling Club held its weekly road race on Saturday over a course or 26 miles, to Paeroa and back. Although it was hard going on the roads, the weather conditions were perfect. Tin* results were a.* loilows:—K. Watson (10jm), 1; A. Bates (5111), 2; V. Reader (.’.Jin;, 3. SVatson won easily from Bates, with Reader 25 yards back. Other competitors were. A. Moffat (ser.), J. Nicholson (3m), w. Miller (3m), J. Skifflngton (3m), E. Wilson (Ojm), B. Skiffington (I2*m), w.
