Copyright) SYDNEY, Sept. 10 The by-election for the Croydon seat in the New South Wales Assembly, arising from the resignation of the ex-Premier, Mr B. S. Stevens, to contest a Federal seat, resulted in the Government candidate, Mr David Hunter, winning by over 2000 votes over the official Labour nominee, Mr George Weir.
