OPPOSITION TO SYSTEM WELLINGTON WATERSIDERS STOP-WORK MEETING HELD (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday A stop-work meeting of Wellington watersiders, attended by over 700 this morning, passed a resolution yiewing with grave concern and entering an emphatic protest against the imposition of the “so-called” cooperative contract system, which deprives a large number of members who assist in the work from participating in the benefits as a party to a contract with no knowledge of its contents. The union felt that a continuance under present conditions would ultimately undermine and destroy the humane and beneficial working conditions obtained by the sacrifice of past members.
