NAVAL PERSONNEL
ADDRESSING MAIL (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Tuesday Many inquiries are being received in the Navy Office, Wellington, concerning the address to which mail for New Zealand Naval personnel serving in the Royal Navy should be addressed. The address should indicate the rank or rating of personnel concerned, and also state, in the case of a rating, his official number. Letter mail is to be addressed as follows: J. Smith, Able Seaman, R.N.V.R. (N.Z.) A. 1268, C/o The High Commissioner for New Zealand, 415 Strand, London, WC2. Parcel mail is to be addressed as follows: A. Brown, Naval Airman 2nd Class, New Zealand Naval Draft, C/o The New Zealand War Services Association, 415 Strand, London, WC2. The New Zealand War Services Association arranges for the entry of goods to England to be exempted from Customs duty and redistibrutes the parcels to the individuals concerned. This arrangement does not affect the liability for duty on entry into any country to which goods may be re-exported. A Customs declaration must be attached to the parcel and must supply as much information as possible as to the nature, weight, and value of the goods. The above arrangements apply only to personnel serving in the Royal Navy. Mail for all personnel serving in ships of the New Zealand Naval Forces, whether stationed in New Zealand or Overseas, should continue to be addressed to the ship concerned, c/o C.P.0., Auckland, which will arrange for the mail to be forwarded.
