LATE MR G. W. VERCOE
FINAL TRIBUTES PAID Testimony to the esteem in which the late Mr G. W. H. Vercoe, of Hamilton, whose death occurred yesterday, was held was given this afternoon when the funeral took place. Proceeding from St. Peter’s Cathedral to the Hamilton East Cemetery, the cortege was a long one and included many representatives of stock business and racing interests. The large number of floral tributes also testified to Mr Vercoe’s popularity throughout the district. The services at the Cathedral and at the graveside were conducted Jy the Dean of Hamilton, the Very R*v. T. P. Weatherhog. The pallbearers, directors and shareholders of G. W. Vercoe and Company, Limited, were Messrs W. H. Baker (Newstead), T. C. Wilson (Waimai), J. E. Richardson (Te Akau), F. C. Johnstone (Waitetuna), F. J. C. Wilson (Auckland) and G. A. Eyre (Waimai).
