HAPPY AFTERNOON

P. & T. WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION The monthly meeting and social gathering of the Hamilton Post and Telegraph Women’s Association was held in the lounge of the Y.M.C.A. on Wednesday afternoon. The lounge looked very attractive with bowls of freesias artistically arranged. A welcome was extended to visitors and members by the president, Mrs E. O. Wood. At the conclusion of business a most enjoyable programme, which had been arranged by Mrs C. Clark, was contributed to by Mrs Colin Wilson, Miss Porter (songs), Mrs E. P. Kelliher and Miss M. McMullin (sketch), and the League of Mothers singing circle (choral items). The accompanists were Mrs C. Clark and Mrs N. M. Grant. The cake competition was won by Mrs Hinkley. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdams Adams, Von Sturmer, Paise and Miss Roche. Those present were:—Mesdames Gibben, Wood, Bramley, Clark, Sweeney, Buckland, Von Sturmer, Green, Mack, Hurrell, Hinkley, Arns, Martin, O’Leary, Paice, E. L. Jones, Cameron, Dwyer, Adams, Kelleher, Salt (Cambridge), Lints (Wanganui), Fulton, Street, Riesterer, Trevener, Pollard, Wilkin, Fitzwilliam, Galbraith, Wilson, Stevens, Grant, Crowley (Wanganui), Mutch (Feilding), Banfield. Misses McMullin, Porter and Roche.
