SUCCESSFUL INGLESIDE

The Matamata Caledonian Society held a very successful Ingleside on Saturday night in the Matamata Town Hall, the proceeds being donated to the patriotic funds. The hall was crowded, and a most enjoyable time was spent. The evening opened with the piping of Chief W. G. John, after which dancing, interspersed with items, was enjoyed. Dance music was supplied by Mr and Mrs A. Lowrie, and an extra was played by Mrs T. Cotter, of Te Poi. Those contributing to the programme were: —Te Aroha Pipe Band, pipe selections; Miss Althea Perston, tap dance; Miss Vera Hawes and Master Ronnie Peddie, songs; Mr J. E. Cronin, songs; Miss Althea Perston and Mr Kevin, tap dance. Patriotic funds will benefit to the extent of £2O.
