Mr J. R. McMurray, of Gore, is visiting the Waikato.

Dr. T. C. Fraser will return to Hamilton from Dunedin during the week-end.

Mr F. W. Nicol, of Assam (India), who is visiting New Zealand on furlough, is in Hamilton.

Brigadier C. Robinson, appointed finance secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, has arrived at Wellington from Sydney.

Major T. McCarroll, of Thames, has been appointed officer commanding the 3rd (Hauraki) Mounted Rifle Squadron, which is being formed.

The Rev. E. P. Blamires, of Auckland, who has supplied a church at Alton, Hampshire, for nearly a year, has been transferred temporarily to the British Methodist Conference, and appointed to the Sheringham Circuit, in Norfolk.

Lieutenant-Commissioner J. Evan Smith, territorial commander of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, was in Auckland from Wellington with Mrs Smith yesterday to meet the newly-appointed chief secretary, Lieutenant-Colonel W. A. Ebbs, formerly of Pittsburgh, United States.

Dr. Max Pirani, examiner for the Royal Colleges of Music, London, having completed his work in Wellington, is in Auckland. Later he will return south to carry out the examinations in the South Island. Dr. F. J. Staten is at present carrying out similar duties in the Taranaki district.
