OBSTETRICS SCHOOL
WOMEN'S HOSPITAL PLAN POST-GRADUATE TRAINING ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE (By Tele^rapß.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The New Zealand Obstetrical Society at the half-yearly executive meeting in Wellington yesterday decided to call a round table conference of interested parties to discuss the founding in Auckland of a modern women’s hospital to function as a Dominion school for post-graduate traning and refresher courses in obstetrics.
Such a school has long been regarded as necessary by the society, and the war situation, which prevented New Zealand doctors obtaining post-praduate obstetrical experience overseas, compelling them to commence practice in New Zealand with no background of residential experience in obstetrics, only accentuates the need. It was decided to invite to the initial discussion representatives of the faculty of medicine, the Auckland Hospital Board, the Auckland University College Council, women’s organisations, the Auckland section and the New Zealand Branch of the 8.M.A., ; and the Health Department.
