£250 DONATION
HAMILTON FIGHTER FUND BOROUGH COUNCIL’S GRANT “As you are all aware I have opened a fund in Hamilton to enable the people to show in a practical manner their appreciation of the exploits of the Royal Air Force by donating to Britain a fighter aeroplane,” commented the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro, at the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night. “The fund has met with generous support and I move that the Hamilton Borough Council donate £250 to this fund.”
Stating that it was for a worthy cause and that anything that could be done to help the Old Country should be done, Mr R. McCaw seconded the motion. Mr C. Lafferty said he was in favour if sufficient funds were available. Mr Caro replied that £SOO was provided in the estimates for patriotic purposes and the money would be available. The motion was carried unanimously. _________
