New Zealand Troops Welcomed “I felt happier about the country and everything,” wrote a Dublin woman to a friend in Christchurch, describing the arrival of New Zealand troops in England and her reactions. “They are so fresh and full of go and love for their country,” she said. “I feel somehow they will be a great help, and it is a comfort in these anxious days to know they are with us. I am knitting socks for the troops, and I am going to ask that they be given to the New Zealand soldiers.” _
