MYSTERIOUS FIRE

WAIKAREMOANA SCHEME V.M.C.A. HALL DESTROYED (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) GISBORNE, Tuesday The Y.M.C.A. hall at the Tuai hydro-electric construction works, at Waikaremoana, was destroyed by fire either late on Sunday night or early on Monday morning. Situated some distance from the power works, the hall, valued at approximately £I2OO, was leased to the association by the Public Works Department. The contents were destroyed, the Y.M.C.A. losing a radio, a piano and two billiard tables. As the cause of the fire, which is believed to have broken out in an outside porch, is a complete mystery, the police are making investigations.
