RAIDS ON BERLIN
BRITISH BOMBERS’ ATTACK RADIO STATIONS FADE - • CLAIMS BY GERMANY (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 2 All radio stations faded out last night in Germany, Bohemia and Moravia. British bombers carried out a twohour attack on German bases along the French coast. Berlin had a short alarm lasting less than an hour. Towns in northern Italy were again attacked. In the sixth air raid on Berlin in eight days, Royal Air Force machines reached the north-western outskirts of the city. An agency message admits the presence of the machines, but adds that no bombs were dropped in the Greater Berlin area. German anti-aircraft fire constituted a regular fireworks display. The German radio reported that no British machines entered what was officially described as the Greater Berlin area. There was an air raid on Munich early this morning. Anti-aircraft guns were in action, and the sound of machine-gun fire was constantly heard. The extent of the damage is not yet known.
