WAR EXPENDITURE
BIG OUTLAY IN CANADA OVER 550,000,000 DOLLARS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) OTTAWA, August 31 The Canadian Ministry of Munitions and Supply has announced that war expenditure and commitments have passed the 550,000,000 dollar mark. Of this sum 165,000,000 dolars is for the erection and enlargement of industrial plants. Simultaneously it is announced that the Ministry has awarded to the Packard company a contract for 2,580,000 dollars for aeroplane engines.
