RHODES SCHOLARSHIPS

TWO AUCKLAND NOMINEES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Monday Auckland’s two nominees for the 1940 Rhodes Scholarships were announced today. They are Mr Robert Pickering Newbold, aged 21, who graduated B.Sc. in 1939 and is lecturer in organic chemistry at Auckland University College. His sportting interests are football, cricket, rifle shooting and harriers; also Mr Francis John Newhook, aged 21, who graduated B.Sc. in 1939 and is demonstrator in Geology at the University. He is a New Zealand University representative hockey player.
