ROYAL AIR FORCE ACTIVITY ENGAGEMENTS IN AFRICA (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 2. 3.15 n.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 1 A Royal Air Force Communique issued at Cairo states: Our bombers attacked the principal enemy aerodromes in Eastern Linya and raided El Timimi, Derna, Boma, El Gazala, Bardia and El Gubbi. Bombs fell on enemy aircraft and a camp at El Timimi. A raid on the Tobruk landing ground caused a big explosion. Several planes were destroyed by fire. Bombs fell on aircraft and a camp at El Gazala. A fighter which was taking off to engage our bombers flew into exploding bombs and was destroyed. There were several engagements between enemy planes and our raiders, but all the raids were carried through, and all our planes re-
