TEACHERS SUBSCRIBE
£570 FOR AMBULANCE (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) DUNEDIN, Sunday The sum of £570 has been subscribed by members of the Otago branch of the Education Institute to purchase an ambulance for defence purposes, either in New Zealand or overseas. This announcement was made to-day by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. On behalf of the Government, the Minister expressed keen appreciation of the gift, which he described as a valuable contribution to New Zealand’s war effort.
