LADY GALWAY GUIM) FORMED A meeting of women, comprising members of the local patriotic committee, and others, was held in the Kaipaki hall recently, when it was decided to form a Lady Galwav Guild. The following officers were elected:—Convener, Mrs A. M. Fisher; secretary and treasurer, Mrs A. Goodwin; designing and ccitting out, Mrs R. Boyd and Mrs W. Cunningham; knitting, Mrs H. A. Goodwin.
It was decided to meet on the first Thursday in each month and to run a small sales table in order to raise funds. Mrs Fisher and Mrs A. Goodwin were elected to take charge of the sales table. CHURCH GUILD SOCIAL A happy afternoon was held in the Kaipaki Hall recently, when the members of the Kaipaki Ladies’ Church Guild entertained members of the Cambridge Church Guilds, to a social afternoon. Owing to difficulty in travelling this year, there were not so many present, but approximately 60 were present. The president of the Kaipaki Guild, Mrs A. Goodwin, presided, and extended a warm welcome. The programme consisted of items given by the Sunday School children, and were much enjoyed. A competition was won by Miss Ina Farrell. Afternoon tea, served by the Kaipaki ladies, was greatly appreciated by the visitors, and on their behalf, Mrs Hitchcock, president of the Presbyterian Guild, Cambridge, expressed thanks.
The sale of cakes, donated by the Kaipaki Guild, realised the sum of £1 3s. which was devoted to the Lady Galway Guild.
