WAIKATO HUNT

CLOSING MEET HOSPITALITY AT “NGAHEKE” Despite a grey day, the beauty of the countryside at Fencourt was not lost when the final meet of the Waikato Hunt was held at the Kennels on Saturday. A good field of riders enjoyed several fine runs with the hounds and many hunting enthusiasts watched the sport from cars. The afternoon concluded with the famed hospitality of “Ngaheke,” the homestead of Mr Wynn Brown, being once again offered to the large gathering. Mrs Ned Brown. Mrs L. L. Orr and Miss Rhoda Brown were the hostesses and entertained those present to refreshments served on the verandahs and lawns.

Mr C. Meredith, after referring to the regret felt at the absence of the master. Mr Wynn Brown, who is in hospital, thanked the host, Mr Ned Brown, and the hostesses for their hospitality. Mr Ned Brown, who took his father’s place in the field and also at his home, responded. Among the lady riders were:— Mesdames J. M.
