FINAL MEET
WAIKATO HUNT
GOOD RUN ENJOYED More than 50 followers, including visitors from Auckland and outlying districts, took part in the final meet of the Waikato Hunt at Fencourt on Saturday. There were also many followers in cars. Regret was expressed at the absence of the Master, Mr Wynn Brown, and members were pleased to hear that he was making good progress after his recent accident. The Huntsman, Mr Ned Brown, took charge of the field and good sport was enjoyed. Hounds were thrown off on Mr William Brown’s property and a hare was raised which gave a great run before the kill. The hunting continued over the properties of Messrs W. Harbutt, J. Leaning, P. P. Hunt and M. Phillips. After hounds had been called off the customary afternoon tea was provided at “Ngahehe,” the homestead of the Master, by Miss Rhoda Brown and Mr and Mrs Ned Brown. The toast of the Master was proposed by Mr C. Meredith, who said that all members were pleased that Mr Brown’s condition was not serious. Mr Ned Brown returned thanks and proposed the toast of the farmers, to which Mr T. F. Coles replied.
