WELLINGTON REGIMENT
TRAINING AT WANGANUI (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Saturday The Ist Battalion, Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), left this morning for the new camp on the Wanganui racecourse. A camp outside Wellington was selected to enable the battalion to carry out field training, night operations, and other advanced phases of the three months’ syllabus. The unit, which has a total strength pf approximately 800 of all ranks and is under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel A. L. George, travelled as far as Plimmerton by motor transport. This was done to give the men practice in boarding and dismounting from motor vehicles.
