PRODUCTION RECORD PAY-OUT OF £19,500,000 (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday “Last season’s production was an all-time record, reaching the amazing total of over 13,000,000 carcases, exceeding the previous year’s record by 2,000,000 carcases,” said the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, addressing delegates to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. “Against this production,” he said, “the Marketing Department has already paid to the industry £16,000,000 on meat already shipped. A further £3,500,000 will be paid on meat now in store, making a total of £19,500,000. The industry has never before had an income of this figure in its history.”
