LOST FORTUNES

GARBO AND SONJA HENIE MONEY IN SWEDEN Film stars are beginning to wonder if it pays to be frugal. Greta Garbo, whose thriftiness has become a byword in Hollywood, has been hard hit by the Hitler grab in Scandinavia. Most of her savings were invested in buildings and Swedish bonds which have depreciated about forty per cent as a result of the war situation. Sonja Henie, another careful spender, is wondering what has happened to .the fortune she had put by in Norway. She has property and investments in German-occupied Oslo. Fortunately, she sold her home there shortly before the invasion.
