MEDICAL TESTS
AIR FORCE CANDIDATES HAMILTON BOARD BUSY Medical examinations of Waikato, King Country, and Bay of Plenty candidates for the Royal New Zealand Air Force are proceeding rapidly in Hamilton. Since August 13, when the first medical board was held in Hamilton, about 100 candidates for the air crews have been medically examined. On one day the number reached 17. When the time required to examine one candidate is considered, this number in a day is extremely high. A considerable number of men has still to be examined. Prior to August 13 all medical examinations of candidates from this district for the Royal New Zealand Air Force were taken in Auckland. The Hamilton medical board is in charge of Dr. F. D. Pinfold, with whom is associated Dr. R. G. Phillips-Turner and Dr. Duncan Macdiarmid. On September 11 the selection committee for the non-flying personnel of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will visit Hamilton. About 50 candidates will be considered, and they will be examined in Hamilton in the weeks following the date of the selection committee’s visit. The Air Department hopes to have the majority of the country candidates for the ground crews medically examined in Hamilton on that date.
