SEVERAL TRIBESMEN KILLED CLASH WITH BRITISH TROOPS TROUBLE ON THE FRONTIER (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 30, 11 a.m.) SIMLA, August 29 Fifty North-West Frontier tribesmen were killed and a considerable number wounded as a result of operations conducted by the British, which ended in a heavy defeat-for the tribesmen. The British lost three killed and twenty wounded. The tribesmen have been very active recently. The British forces retaliated by attacking a village. Copyright) (Received Aug. 30, 11 a.m.) BOMBAY, Aug. 29 Eleven Congress volunteers from Cawnpore decided to offer themselves for arrest by defying the ban on organised drilling. Congress supporters interpret the step as the first move in the civil disobedience campaign.
