INJURED HORSEMAN

BENEFIT ENTERTAINMENT GATHERING AT FRANKTON About 500 people filled the Frankton Town Hall on Tuesday night, when horse owners, trainers and jockeys gave a very successful entertainment for the benefit of Rangi Thompson, a popular horseman .who was seriously injured at the Wellington Racing Club’s meeting. The gathering was organised by Mr J. F. Tutchen, with Mr R. Fordyce as secretary and treasurer. Mr Fordyce thanked those who had subscribed to the fund, the members of racing clubs, those who had charge of the subscription lists, and the ladies who supplied the supper in a lavish manner. Rangi Thompson was popular among a large number of friends, who are showing their sympathy in a practical manner. Assistance with the testimonial has been received from racing bodies and sportsmen in many parts of the country.
