OFFENSIVE PHASE
DEVELOPMENT OF WAR CANADIAN MINISTER’S VIEW TROOPS WELL TRAINED (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 29, 3.15 p.m.) OTTAWA. August 28 Colonel Ralston, Minister for Defence stated that all the Canadian Army Corps is being formed in England under Major-General McNaughton immediately. The training of the second division had been completed and the third division was being concentrated in the maritime provinces. Colonel Ralston added:
“ There’s an offensive phase coming:. Just when I don’t know, but our Canadian first division is thoroughly trained and will be in the thick of it. The war has developed to a point where the Canadians’ chance is coming.”
