Mrs V. Linder, Hamilton, is spending a holiday in Auckland.
Mrs W. Lawson, Manurewa, is visiting Mrs G. Wood, Hamilton. Mrs F. H. Hare and Miss Joyce Hare, Mount Eden, Auckland, are staying with Mrs W. J. Patrick, Frankton.
Mrs J. Louden, who has been visiting Mrs J. Flannagan, Frankton, has returned to Whangarei. The owners, trainers and jockeys of Te Rapa organised a most successful benefit function in the Town Hall at Frankton on Tuesday night, for the well-known jockey, Rangi Thompson, who was recently injured. Dancing and euchre were enjoyed by the large number present, and the highly satisfactory sum of approximately £2OO was raised. A pleasant musical evening was given by Mrs Kerr, of Matangi, at her residence, recently, when items were contributed by the following:— The Melody Maestro* (Hamilton’s popular male quartet), Miss J. Shaw, Mrs Kerr, Mr I. Medwin, Mr J. Lees, Mr R. Enright (songs), Miss Lees and Mr Lees (vocal duet), Mr J. Page and Miss E. Hayward (pianoforte duet).
